About Me
Colin is a trained manufacturing engineer and skilled machinist based in Nelson, British Columbia. Educated at BCIT and on the shop floor, he worked under master machinist Shane Carr of Carr's Machining, cutting his teeth on job shop machining large and small.
After BCIT, Colin worked at Raceface, a mountain bike component manufacturer, as the production manager of their carbon fiber crankarm line and in the destructive product testing and validation lab. Other employment history includes die casting, CNC machine shops, lead foundries, hydraulic assembly houses, YouTube production houses, and CNC Software companies (inclusive of his current daytime employer)
Dub Manufacturing is an extension of Colin's desire to make things of all shapes and sizes. It is a full-service design and prototyping studio that takes napkin-level sketches and outputs ready-to-produce products. It also happens to be his happy place, where he spends countless hours working on his projects and ideas.
Shop visits are by appointment only.
Dub Manufacturing is not a full-time venture - but rather an opportunity to expand Colin's wealth of expertise to other makers and manufacturers in the Kootenay region to earn enough to keep the shop operating while taking on fun and creative projects. Availability is limited.
